What is a Silk Impression Print, and why is it better than a Canvas Print?
Silk Impression Prints are @ArtbySRoss designs created using Abstract Watercolours painted by Sylvia Ross. The designs are enlarged and printed onto silk impression fabric.
There is a vibrancy to the printed Artwork that is often missing from Canvas Prints. The shimmer and drape of the fabric adds another dimension to the Artwork.
What is Silk Impression fabric?
Silk impression fabric features the same light, delicate and luxurious appearance of real silk, but it’s more cost effective and easier to care for.
Can I clean Silk Impression Prints?
Yes you can, use a cold wash cycle or dry clean. You can iron them too.
The Silk impression fabric does not crush easily but if there are any creases when you unpack, just lightly iron prior to framing your Artwork.
Do you provide Canvas Prints?
Not via the online Shop. Some Canvas Prints are available for sale at Exhibitions at REDUCED prices, as the print quality achieved when using the silk impression fabric is better.
Do you Supply Framed Art?
The Silk Impression Prints are sold unframed to simplify delivery and reduce postage costs.
Digital Prints are supplied in mounts with backing boards.

Why are Silk Impression Prints a little larger than the size ordered?
Each print is a little larger in width & height than ordered, this is to ensure you have the extra material needed for framing – Approximately 4cm larger for Small A3 size prints, 6cm larger for Medium size prints and 10cm for Large size prints.
Can I use an unusual shaped frame?
Yes, you can potentially mount the Artwork in unusual shaped frames as Silk Impression Prints are made of Silk Impression fabric, you have more flexible framing options. Click here for more information.
Are there any rules for building an Art Wall?
Yes, but you don’t have to strictly follow them, layout the Artworks anyway you think looks good. If you do want some tips click here.
What size are the print runs for Limited Editions?

How long does Artwork take to arrive?
Silk Impression Prints are made to order, so please allow between 5 and 10 days for delivery. Click here for information on pre delivery checks and additional delivery information.
Digital Prints are typically delivered within 3 days from stock. If the Digital Print ordered is not in stock a print run will be required which will extend delivery time to between 5 and 10 days.
Accessories & Homeware are made to order, so please allow between 5 and 10 days for delivery.
Add another 5 days if it’s an International delivery.
How is Artwork shipped?
UK DELIVERY
The package is sent via Royal Mail using the Signed For 1st Class postage service.
WORLDWIDE DELIVERY
The package is sent via Royal Mail using the International Confirmed Delivery service.
What size is an A3 Size Silk Impression Print?
The A3 size is 42cm X 29.7cm Portrait and 29.7cm X 42cm Landscape*.
*Each print is a little larger in width & height than ordered, this is to ensure you have the extra material needed for framing.
What size is a Medium Size Silk Impression Print?
The Medium size is 80cm x 60cm Portrait and 60cm X 80cm Landscape*.
*Each print is a little larger in width & height than ordered, this is to ensure you have the extra material needed for framing.
What size is a Large Size Silk Impression Print?
The Large size is 6 feet X 4 feet Portrait and 4 feet X 6 feet Landscape*.
*Each print is a little larger in width & height than ordered, this is to ensure you have the extra material needed for framing.
What’s the largest size for a Silk Impression print?
The maximum size* is
- Landscape – 135cm x 195cm
- Portrait – 195cm x 135cm
*Only a small range of Silk Impression Prints are suitable for this size of print. These are generally the prints associated with the Large size option.

What is the smallest size for a Silk Impression Print?
Typically it’s A3. Smaller sizes can be provided, however if you want to go as small as 7″X 5″ it’s cheaper to buy a Digital Print.
What size are Digital Prints?
Digital Print are :-
- 7″ x 5″ (Portrait)
- 5″ x 7″ (Landscape)
They are provided with Mounts and Backing boards measuring :-
- 10″ x 8″ (Portrait)
- 8″ x 10″ (Landscape)
A selection of smaller Digital Prints (6″x 4″) are available for Promotions only.
What is an Art ID code and when do I need one?
Art ID codes are unique codes that identify Artwork. They are used to select the design to be applied to bespoke Silk Impression Prints and items in the Accessories & Homeware Shop.
What are Bespoke Artworks?
Bespoke Artworks are Silk Impression Prints that are made to a user specified size*, rather than the Small (A3), Medium (80cm x 60cm) and Large (6 feet x 4 feet) Silk Impression Prints sold in the online WALL ART SHOP.
*Each print is a little larger in width & height than ordered, this is to ensure you have the extra material needed for framing.
How expensive is Bespoke Artwork?
Cost is subject to size. Bespoke Artworks can be created within the maximum size range of the selected Silk Impression Prints.
How do I buy bespoke Artworks?
Contact the Artist by email to obtain a quote.

You will be sent a special link to the Bespoke section of the online WALL ART SHOP that has been adjusted to reflect the item(s) and price associated with your quote. To complete your order select to ADD TO BASKET.

Do Silk Impression Prints include an Artists Mark?
To allow for both Portrait and Landscape orientation the Artist’s Mark is NOT normally displayed on Silk Impression Prints. However it is possible to have the mark added and to select its location. There are 12 location options – click here for details.
What is a Certificate of Authenticity and how do I get one?
Limited Edition Silk Impression Prints, Digital Prints and Original Art are shipped with a certificate of authenticity. The Certificate is signed by the Artist to authenticate the Artwork and in the case of prints, provide you with your unique Limited Edition Issue number.
